April I & had the absolute pleasure of seeing her production, Adanza,back in April, at The Eastwood Performing Arts Center in LA. We were truly blown away by the onslaught of talented & diverse performers, including dancers, musicians, singers, jugglers, stilt walkers, bubble performers, silk aerial performers, fire performers, magicians, unicyclists, break dancers, drummers and gymnastics, just to name a few ... This indeed, was a truly ambitious endeavor on behalf of our local "sheela", Brooke Ferri.

Mercedes De Acosta was a poet, playwright, screenwriter, novelist, socialite, costume designer, and fashion influencer.  She also lived her life as an unabashedly out lesbian at a time, when this was hidden, looked down upon & unheard of.
Her unapologetic strength, resilience, and ingenuity paved the way for others and her most impressive creation was herself
During her life, Mercedes produced three volumes of poetry, two novels, and plays. Still, commercial success eluded her mostly due to a disapproving world, who was more concerned with her sexual preference than her talents.

Dell was an American female magician regarded oin her profession as a pioneer who provided a role model & paved the way for modern female performers, like Julie.

At just 31 years of age, Julie is already a lieutenant in the Navy- flying helicopters, an accomplished magician, a lawyer and that’s not all, she works for the Dead letter office!! She was also Suffragette and a women’s rights leader working with Eleanor Roosevelt and she was a totally original individualist.She was also the highest-paid woman illustrator of the early 20th century, who ascended to the top in a thoroughly male-dominated field, at the time. And considered the first American woman cartoonist, Most importantly, She was the 1st person ever to build a merchandising empire from her work, with her invention of the Kewpie Doll.
